BMW M6 production ends

Manufacture of the BMW M6 has stopped, the organization has confirmed.

The M division’s 5.-litre naturally aspirated V10 powerplant, which powered the M5, has therefore been wiped out off consequently.

The BMW M6 concept made its debut in the 2005 Geneva motor show and took it’s origin from the BMW E63/E64 6-Series. BMW is anticipated to unveil its next-generation 6-Series in the Paris motor show in September.

Speculation has recommended the new twin-turbo V8 – because of power this year’s M5 – may also be used for the following 6-series.

There will likely be considered a substitute for that M6, but BMW cannot made the decision whether or not to grant it full ‘M’ nomenclature.
